Electrical Engineer / Controls Engineer (Specialist Training)

About the role

This position is for an aspiring Controls Engineer who will receive specialist in‑house training and OEM training in the United States. Based in Wellington, the role offers a balanced 39‑hour week, generous holiday entitlement and the chance to become a product expert on a varied range of control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform workshop‑based fault finding and diagnostics on bespoke PLC systems.
• Program and configure parts for Siemens and custom PLC platforms.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customer installations.
• Collaborate with a close team of experts to develop product knowledge.

Required profile

• Background in electrical, maintenance or service engineering.
• Motivation to specialise in controls engineering and progress to a product‑expert role.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including training in Los Angeles.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in a workshop environment.

Required skills

• Experience with electrical systems and diagnostics.
• PLC programming, particularly Siemens PLCs.
• Fault finding and part programming capabilities.
