Electrical BIM Coordinator / Draftsperson

About the role

We are an established electrical contractor in Christchurch seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Coordinator / Draftsperson. You will own the local design function, supporting a range of high‑profile commercial construction projects across the South Island.

Key responsibilities

• Produce electrical drafting and design using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate BIM models, perform clash detection, and take part in design workshops.
• Support project delivery with accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and clients.
• Serve as the sole local design resource, managing day‑to‑day requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3+ years of electrical drafting experience in a commercial construction environment.
• Strong electrical design background with high CAD proficiency.
• Proven experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination processes.
• Ability to work independently with confidence and accountability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfort operating in multi‑disciplinary design environments.
• Collaborative, hands‑on attitude suited to a small team.
