EH&S Audit & Compliance Officer (Full‑time, Christchurch)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) professional to join our Christchurch Engine Centre team as a permanent Audit & Compliance Officer. You will help protect our business continuity by ensuring compliance with EH&S legislation, standards and internal requirements across a complex operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide EH&S advice, coaching and support to leaders, employees and contractors.
• Plan and conduct audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Support contractor management and PCBU compliance obligations.
• Assist in developing and improving EH&S systems, programs and procedures.
• Deliver EH&S training and awareness initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external EH&S representatives.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in health & safety.
• Lead Auditor certification and preferably a NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent).
• Proven EH&S experience in a medium or large organisation, ideally in operational, production, engineering or manufacturing settings.
• Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
