Duty Manager – Rooftop Bar

About the role

The Churchill Auckland, a premier rooftop gin and cocktail bar, is looking for a proactive Duty Manager to oversee bar operations, deliver exceptional guest experiences and lead a talented team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the bar service period, from opening to closing.
• Prepare cocktails, mixed drinks and tailored beverages to guest specifications.
• Ensure the bar is consistently stocked through accurate ordering and planning.
• Lead, coach and train the bar team, fostering a culture of service excellence.
• Maintain a clean, safe and compliant bar environment, upholding RSA and company policies.
• Build relationships with guests and promote repeat bookings.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external visitors.

Required profile

• Current RSA certification.
• Relevant experience in a similar managerial role within hospitality.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Self‑motivated, energetic and able to thrive in a high‑tempo setting.

Required skills

• Expertise in cocktail preparation and bar service.
• Inventory management and ordering proficiency.
• Team leadership, training and performance coaching.
