Duty Manager

About the role

As a Duty Manager you will oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring seamless collaboration across departments to deliver outstanding guest experiences. You will act as the on‑site leader in the General Manager’s absence, maintaining high standards of service, safety and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall hotel operations including front desk, staffing, room inventory and policy compliance.
• Deliver exceptional guest service, respond promptly to inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
• Support various departments by covering roles such as bell service or front desk during busy periods.
• Conduct property walk‑throughs to monitor safety, security and service quality.
• Provide regular updates and training to staff on hotel offerings and local attractions.
• Track guest satisfaction metrics (e.g., SALT, Revinate) and implement improvement actions.
• Supervise, coach and develop team members, fostering a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in front office or hotel operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong team‑leadership abilities with a focus on service excellence.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, able to handle guest complaints professionally.
• Calm under pressure, adaptable to changing priorities and schedules.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).
• Familiarity with standard hotel operational procedures.
