Director, Financial Institutions Sales

About the role

As a Director of Financial Institutions Sales within ANZ’s Transaction Banking team, you will deepen relationships with New Zealand’s most significant financial institutions and help them unlock greater value from ANZ’s market‑leading transaction banking capabilities. The role combines relationship management, sales leadership and industry expertise to influence client outcomes and drive growth for the Institutional business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic financial institution clients, including banks, fund managers, insurers, wealth platforms, non‑bank lenders and payment providers.
• Identify new opportunities to deepen relationships and expand ANZ’s footprint across the transaction banking suite.
• Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business strategy and deliver tailored transaction banking solutions that support their growth and operational objectives.
• Lead sales conversations, originate new business opportunities and execute portfolio growth plans across key client segments.
• Partner with Relationship Managers, Product teams and colleagues across Australia, New Zealand and broader ANZ geographies to deliver seamless client outcomes.
• Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes affecting financial institutions.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in financial institution sales or transaction banking.
• Strong track record of managing complex client relationships and delivering revenue growth.
• Excellent strategic thinking and ability to translate client objectives into actionable solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills across cross‑functional teams.
