Desktop Engineer (Wellington)

About the role

MAS is looking for a Desktop Engineer to join its Wellington team. You will provide expert support for technology services across the organisation, ensuring reliable and secure digital experiences for staff and members.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert support and escalation assistance for technology issues.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, endpoint and network problems.
• Support and administer Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Manage user access and maintain system security.
• Deploy applications, updates and patches across endpoint devices.
• Support device lifecycle management and enforce technology standards.
• Maintain accurate system, asset and process documentation.
• Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to deliver quality outcomes.
• Contribute to technology projects and service improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and user experience.

Required profile

• Customer‑focused technology professional with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• 4+ years of experience supporting IT systems in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting endpoint devices and network hardware.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience with Intune application deployment and device management.
• Knowledge of Entra ID / Active Directory.
• Experience working in a change‑controlled environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, self‑managing approach with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
