Depot Manager

About the role

As the Depot Manager at Elgas Limited in Invercargill, you will lead daily plant operations, supervise staff and ensure safe, efficient LPG delivery to customers. You will also manage depot infrastructure, coordinate visitors and contractors, and drive continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all distribution and filling activities for LPG cylinders, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Train and coach staff to follow company standards and deliver quality service.
• Track productivity, report performance metrics and identify cost‑effective improvements.
• Set objectives for the distribution team, conduct performance assessments and support development.
• Manage on‑site visitors, contractors and maintain depot facilities.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience in the gas industry or a similar logistics/distribution environment at a supervisory level.
• Class 2 driver’s licence with at least 12 months of manual‑transmission delivery experience.
• Physically fit for regular heavy lifting.
• Strong commitment to health and safety and knowledge of statutory compliance.
• Proven leadership, decision‑making and communication abilities.
