About the role
The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Otago is seeking a highly organised and proactive Dental Assistant to support undergraduate and postgraduate dental students, academic staff and the dental hospital in Dunedin.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare clinics for teaching sessions.
- Provide chair‑side assistance during clinical procedures.
- Support patient care and management.
- Ensure effective sterilisation and maintenance of dental instruments.
Required profile
- Excellent people and communication skills.
- Dental Assistant experience preferred (training available for the right candidate).
- New Zealand Dental Assistants' Certificate or equivalent qualification (preferred).
- Sterilising experience in a dental or hospital setting (advantageous).
- Right to live and work in New Zealand.
