Deli & Bakery Assistant (Full‑time/Part‑time)

About the role

New World Te Atatu is opening a modern full‑service supermarket in August 2026 and is looking for enthusiastic Deli & Bakery Assistants. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, preparing fresh food, maintaining high presentation standards, and delivering friendly service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and pack bakery items to ensure consistent quality and appearance.
• Accurately price products, maintain clear ticketing, and keep merchandise displays full and appealing.
• Prepare fresh deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and hot foods including rotisserie chickens.
• Serve customers with knowledgeable recommendations and friendly service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with team members across both deli and bakery departments.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about fresh food and customer service.
• Reliable, hardworking, and proactive in a busy retail setting.
• Ability to work one weekend day each week.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
