Decorator Operator – 6‑Month Fixed Term

About the role

The Decorator Operator will operate and maintain decorators at our can manufacturing facility in Wiri, South Auckland. This is a 6‑month fixed‑term role with potential extension, working a rotating 12‑hour shift pattern in a continuous 7‑day operation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Concord decorators to meet production and quality targets
• Execute machine setups, adjustments and changeovers per customer specifications
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and implement corrective actions
• Proactively resolve issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct regular inspections, cleaning and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to strict food safety standards and procedures at all times
• Read, understand and follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and support continuous improvement efforts

Required profile

• 5+ years' experience as a Machine Operator in a high‑speed manufacturing environment, with previous printing experience
• Can‑making experience is essential
• Strong attention to detail with a customer‑focused mindset
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Demonstrated focus on quality outcomes and continuous improvement
• Strong commitment to safe work practices and compliance
• Sound mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving capability
