Data Scientist - ML Specialist

About the role

Mercor is seeking experienced Data Scientists to work on cutting‑edge machine‑learning projects for leading AI research labs. This remote contract position offers flexible hours and competitive hourly rates.

Key responsibilities

• Design experiments and collect data for machine‑learning applications.
• Preprocess and analyze large datasets to build predictive models.
• Evaluate, tune, and improve AI models using TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy production‑ready solutions.
• Write, review, and validate prompt‑based questions for AI system training.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and enhance model performance.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience in data science or applied analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field (U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Availability to start in early September; applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
