Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join Mr Apple's growing Data Team in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. You will help design, build and optimise data pipelines across cloud platforms and SaaS applications, supporting the business with reliable, high‑performance data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build, monitor and maintain data pipelines on Azure, Snowflake and various SaaS tools.
• Design scalable and resilient data solutions for the organisation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical implementations.
• Write and optimise SQL queries for reporting and insights.
• Improve data reliability, accessibility and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, performance and data quality.

Required profile

• Practical experience writing code, preferably Python (experience with .NET/C# is also considered).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, Azure preferred (AWS or GCP acceptable).
• Strong SQL skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with business stakeholders.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand on a full‑time basis.
