Data Engineer (Contract) – Auckland

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer on a 6‑month contract to join our Auckland team. You will design, build, and maintain data pipelines that support analytics and reporting across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise ETL/ELT workflows using Python, Pandas, PySpark and AWS services.
• Design, implement and monitor data pipelines in Apache Airflow (MWAA).
• Manage data warehousing solutions on Amazon Redshift and ensure performant SQL queries.
• Architect and maintain data lake structures on Amazon S3.
• Implement secure data access using AWS Secrets Manager, KMS and IAM.
• Collaborate with agile teams to deliver data solutions in a CI/CD environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an agile, data‑focused team.
• Eligibility to work in Australia or New Zealand (citizen or permanent resident).
