Data Engineer – Backend & API Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain clean, scalable, and secure data systems. You will work within a collaborative, cross‑functional team that values robust architecture, thoughtful delivery, and high‑quality code.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production‑ready backend systems and high‑performance data pipelines.
• Design, implement, and integrate secure RESTful APIs for internal and external enterprise services.
• Write and optimise complex SQL and PL/SQL scripts to support large‑scale data operations.
• Partner with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver end‑to‑end software solutions.
• Assist with database tuning, schema design, and live‑environment performance management.
• Contribute to backend architecture best practices, security protocols, and CI/CD deployment processes.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL with strong database performance‑tuning capabilities.
• Solid commercial experience delivering backend systems using Python.
• Proven skills in developing and integrating RESTful APIs (JSON, OAuth).
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and database administration principles.
• Routine experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows.
