Data Centre Technician – Electrical/HVAC (24/7 Shift)

About the role

Join CDC Data Centres in Auckland as a Data Centre Technician working on 24/7 shift patterns. You will support the operation of mission‑critical power, cooling and fire systems in a live data centre environment, applying your electrical or HVAC background to keep infrastructure running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor alarms and alerts across power, cooling and fire systems.
• Perform physical inspections to verify equipment operates within defined parameters.
• Respond to faults and incidents, prioritising actions and escalating when required.
• Carry out operational switching and control activities to prevent unplanned outages.
• Support planned maintenance and supervise contractors, ensuring strict safety compliance.
• Document incidents, maintenance actions and observations for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in electrical, HVAC or related industrial environments.
• Ability to follow procedures, work safely and make calm decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to work a rotating 2‑day, 2‑night, 4‑off shift roster.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to reliability.
