Dairy Farm Assistant – Fixed Term (July–Dec 2026)

About the role

Join Pinta Dairy’s large‑scale operation just outside Taupō as a Dairy Farm Assistant on a fixed‑term basis from July to December 2026. You will work on a modern 80‑bail rotary milking shed, using Halter technology, and gain hands‑on experience across all aspects of dairy farming.

Key responsibilities

• Milking approximately 2,100 cows using the rotary shed.
• Performing spraying, general farm maintenance and hygiene duties.
• Assisting with calf rearing during the calving season.
• Operating and maintaining modern farm equipment, including Halter technology.
• Adhering to health, safety and animal‑welfare protocols.

Required profile

• Positive, reliable attitude with good communication skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and animal welfare.
• Current New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Willingness to learn; prior farming experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Experience or willingness to work with Halter technology.
• Familiarity with rotary milking systems.
