About the role
A dairy cattle farm in the West Coast region of the South Island, New Zealand, is looking for a farm worker. The position reports to the farm manager or director and covers day-to-day care of the herd and general farm work.
Key responsibilities
- Patrol, inspect and report on the condition of livestock
- Provide feed and water
- Assist with calf rearing and maintain the health and welfare of livestock
- Mustering and droving livestock to milking and shearing sheds and between paddocks
- Wash and clean udders, attach milking machines and milk cows
- Clean the shed and carry out general farm maintenance such as fencing and repairing the water line
Required profile
- No experience required; full training is provided
- Physically fit
- Ability to start very early in the morning
What we offer
- Pay of 55,000 NZD per year
- On-farm accommodation
- Work Monday to Sunday, five to six days a week, starting at 5 am during milking and 3 am during calving
