Cybersecurity Analyst

About the role
We are looking for an intermediate‑level Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Wellington‑based Security Operations team. You will work 24/7 alongside engineers to deliver tangible security outcomes for some of New Zealand’s most critical organisations, using a blend of automation, AI and traditional SOC practices.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the ticketing queue and respond to security alerts and incidents.
- Perform daily health checks, alert triage, trend analysis and client reporting.
- Onboard new clients to our SIEM and SOAR platforms and resolve platform‑related issues.
- Prepare and present monthly SOC reports to clients.
- Develop automation playbooks and contribute to detection‑response engineering.
- Participate in the on‑call roster to support the 24/7 SOC.
Required profile
- At least 2 years of experience as a cybersecurity analyst or engineer.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
- Attention to detail and commitment to process discipline and SLA compliance.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM, SOAR and EDR platforms.
- Automation tools such as Tines, Torq or XSOAR.
- Scripting languages – Python, PowerShell, KQL.
- Familiarity with AI tools, Large Language Models and agentic SOC workflows.
