Cyber Security Director

About the role

We are seeking a visionary Cyber Security Director to lead our security practice across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific. This senior executive will shape strategy, guide a high‑performing team and act as a trusted advisor to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive cyber security strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of cyber security professionals.
• Design, implement and maintain security controls, policies and procedures to protect client assets.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to promote services and drive growth.
• Provide expert advice on best practices, threat intelligence and incident response.
• Monitor emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation measures.
• Manage relationships with partners, vendors and industry stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST CSF and other relevant standards.
• Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.

Required profile

• 15+ years of cyber security experience with proven leadership in a security business.
• Deep knowledge of cyber security principles, technologies and best practices.
• Experience managing security operations, including incident response, threat detection and vulnerability management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities.
