About the role

Mercor is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join a remote, contract‑based team focused on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities in AI‑driven systems. The role emphasizes pattern recognition, classification, and the application of systems‑programming expertise to improve threat detection.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review AI‑related content for security vulnerabilities, emphasizing pattern recognition and classification.
• Apply systems‑programming knowledge to enhance AI model threat detection and reasoning.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team of domain experts.
• Design, solve, and review challenging security problems with real‑world impact.
• Maintain independent work habits while meeting flexible project deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
• Familiarity with vulnerability classification frameworks such as OWASP or CVE databases.
• Solid understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, including web security and common attack vectors.
• Strong attention to detail and pattern‑recognition abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Residency in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
