Customer Specialist – Part‑time (16 hrs) – Whanganui

About the role

ASB is seeking a friendly and proactive Customer Specialist to join its Whanganui Advice Centre on a permanent part‑time basis. Working 16 hours each week, you will help customers with everyday banking needs, guide them toward digital solutions, and ensure a smooth branch experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers across multiple channels with a variety of banking requests.
• Promote and support the use of ASB’s digital and self‑service tools.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to efficient branch operations.
• Build genuine relationships and deliver exceptional service experiences.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Comfortable learning new systems and digital tools.
• Curious mindset with a willingness to ask insightful questions.
• Adaptable to changing customer needs and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Positive, team‑first attitude and attention to detail.
• Previous experience in customer‑facing roles such as retail, hospitality, call centres, or similar is valued.
