Customer Service Support Representative - Part‑Time (Saturday & Sunday)

About the role

Join the Customer & Community Unit of Hamilton City Council as a part‑time Customer Service Support Representative. You will work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) handling inbound calls for Hamilton, Waikato and Waipa district residents, providing timely assistance and information.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage inbound calls during the 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm shift.
• Process service requests and enquiries using the council’s Knowledge Base.
• Interpret customer needs and deliver tailored solutions on a case‑by‑case basis.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and follow‑up actions.
• Collaborate with other council units to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required profile

• Previous call‑centre or customer‑service experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated with a “can‑do” attitude.
• Excellent verbal communication across phone and digital channels.
• Flexibility to manage diverse tasks and remain calm under pressure.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
