About the role

Mercor is seeking a Critical Reviewer to evaluate AI‑generated responses and help improve model reasoning and rigor. This fully remote, contract position offers $100 per hour and allows you to work independently with leading AI research teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess AI‑generated outputs for logical consistency, depth, and accuracy.
• Provide structured, well‑evidenced written feedback to enhance training data quality.
• Develop clear rationales that go beyond surface‑level observations.
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to ensure dataset coverage and consistency.
• Meet deadlines while maintaining strict adherence to evaluation guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a top‑100 globally ranked university (preferred).
• Strong analytical and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed task instructions, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent critical reading skills to spot nuance, implicit meaning, and reasoning gaps.
• Consistent, honest judgment and the capacity to give constructive criticism.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strict application of structured guidelines.
• Native English fluency and ability to work without AI writing tools.
