Credit Specialist (Credit Collector)

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring a Credit Specialist to be based at its Ellerslie office in Auckland. The role focuses on collecting rental and toll invoices from large corporate insurance accounts across the APAC region. It is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Account Services Team Leader, with the option to work from home two days per week once trained.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor outstanding debt accurately and carry out regular credit control on the portfolio accounts
• Communicate regularly with credit facility account holders and liaise with stakeholders, consultants and agents
• Manage and update account administration databases
• Investigate, negotiate and settle disputes and queries within delegated authority
• Ensure compliance with policies, systems, standards and reporting requirements
• Act as first point of contact for customer escalations and complaints, resolving issues and providing professional service
• Respond to enquiries and complaints by letter and by phone in a timely manner
• Produce regular, accurate reports on outstanding debt and assist the Team Leader with monthly reporting of overdue debt
• Comply with health and safety requirements and other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Previous credit control experience, including dispute resolution and negotiation, preferably in the travel and tourism industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
• Initiative to solve problems, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Weekend work may be needed at month and year end

Required skills

• Significant MS Office Suite knowledge and experience
• Experience with Wizard and/or Oracle is highly advantageous
