Court Registry Officer

About the role
The Court Registry Officer supports the smooth operation of the Wanganui District Court. You will interact with judges, legal professionals, and the public, ensuring court processes run efficiently and courteously.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate court proceedings, including introducing judges in English and Te Reo Māori and providing administrative support in the courtroom and chambers.
- Deliver front‑line customer service, responding to queries in person, by phone, or email.
- Maintain accurate case files, perform data entry, and manage case information to keep records up to date.
- Liaise with defendants, witnesses, families, Oranga Tamariki, lawyers, and police officers as required.
Required profile
- Strong customer‑service orientation and quality decision‑making.
- Detail‑oriented, observant, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Self‑aware, resilient, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to changing legislation and court procedures.
