Corporate & Regulatory Lawyer (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Join a leading insurance organisation in New Zealand as a Corporate & Regulatory Lawyer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract covering parental leave. You will provide legal advice and support across a range of business areas during a period of transformation and regulatory change.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver corporate and regulatory advisory services to senior leaders and business units.
• Support the General Insurance brand Vero and other Suncorp Group entities on legal matters.
• Advise on technology contracts, procurement, marketing/sponsorship and investigations.
• Interpret and apply financial services legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to simplify complex legal issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Law with a current practising certificate.
• Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in New Zealand.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house legal team.
• Regulatory advisory experience in a corporate or litigation capacity is desired.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work autonomously with senior leaders.
