Controls Assurance Internship – Deloitte Auckland

About the role

Join Deloitte’s Internal Audit and Controls Assurance team in Auckland to help organisations strengthen risk, controls and governance. As a Controls Assurance Intern you will gain hands‑on experience on audit and controls engagements, learning how business processes, systems and controls operate in practice.

Key responsibilities

• Support internal audit and controls assurance engagements under senior guidance.
• Assist with testing of controls, data analysis and documentation of findings.
• Prepare work‑papers, summaries and reports for client review.
• Participate in team meetings, client interactions and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Contribute to risk identification and assessment activities.

Required profile

• Currently in the penultimate year of a university degree (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business).
• Strong analytical mindset and interest in risk, audit or controls.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Motivation to learn and develop a career in professional services.
