Consultant Radiologist (General)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Radiologist to join the team at Waikato Hospital, a busy tertiary and Level 1 Trauma centre in Hamilton. The role involves reporting across CT, Ultrasound and X‑ray, supporting registrars and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings while maintaining high clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and report CT, Ultrasound and X‑ray examinations for a wide range of cases, from routine to acute and complex.
• Support radiology registrars in their training and development.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and uphold clinical quality standards.
• Collaborate with the department to continuously improve services.
• Potentially shape the role to include a hybrid public‑private mix based on subspecialty interests.

Required profile

• Strong clinical judgement in fast‑paced environments.
• Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Eligibility for vocational registration in New Zealand (Radiology).
• Subspecialty fellowship preferred.
