Construction Manager – Wind Farm Project

About the role

Meridian is building the Mt Munro wind farm in New Zealand and seeks a Construction Manager to lead all on‑site construction activities. This three‑year, full‑time, fixed‑term position will oversee earthworks, civil works, building works, electrical installations, control systems, transmission, SCADA and ICT services, ensuring safe, sustainable delivery and handover to the approved programme and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safe, healthy and environmentally sustainable work practices on‑site.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary contractors and direct reports, fostering open, no‑surprise communication.
• Manage the full scope of construction works – earthworks, civil works, buildings, electrical works, control systems, transmission, SCADA and ICT services.
• Monitor contractor performance, integrate multiple workstreams and ensure delivery within schedule and budget.
• Prepare and execute the final handover of the wind‑farm infrastructure.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary or industry qualification in project or construction management.
• Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure or large technical capital projects from planning through operational handover.
• Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams in both on‑site and virtual environments.
• Strong contractor management and performance oversight capabilities.
• Willingness to travel on 4WD tracks and work outdoors in all weather conditions, with a residence within commuting distance of Mt Munro.
