Connections Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Connections Design Engineer to join our Contracting team. The successful candidate will provide design and quotation services for electrical customer connections, ensuring compliance with Northpower, Vector and customer standards while prioritising safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality designs and cost‑effective quotes for new and existing customer connections.
• Conduct site visits, take measurements and review project scopes.
• Verify that all designs meet regulatory, safety and network standards.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to hand over fit‑for‑purpose projects.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule.
• Identify risks early and propose compliant, cost‑efficient solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ estimating experience in the electrical or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of network, safety and compliance standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Electrical registration preferred but not essential.
• Safety‑first mindset with a proactive, solutions‑focused attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
