Compliance Officer

About the role

Join the Business Registries team at MBIE as a Compliance Officer, supporting the Registrar of Companies and other statutory offices. You will help ensure market integrity and guide corporate entities to meet their legal obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer compliance functions for the Registrar of Companies and related statutory bodies.
• Collaborate with investigators and Business Registries teams to uphold market integrity.
• Develop and contribute to compliance and enforcement strategies.
• Liaise with external agencies and produce clear, concise reports.
• Analyse complex compliance issues and devise practical solutions.

Required profile

• Knowledge of the statutory functions of the Registrar of Companies and relevant legislation.
• Proven experience with registry systems and compliance processes.
• Strong organisational ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, critical‑thinking and decision‑making skills.
• Legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
