Compliance Analyst – Digital Monitoring

About the role

Join a dedicated team that uses digital monitoring to strengthen fisheries compliance and protect New Zealand's marine environment. You will analyse video footage and data to identify non‑compliance, assess risk and support operational decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Review digital monitoring footage to assess compliance with fisheries legislation.
• Analyse suspected offences, identify patterns, trends and emerging risks.
• Report findings, package evidence to a high standard and disseminate to the appropriate operational district.
• Produce clear tactical and intelligence reports, providing context on events, vessels and permit holders.
• Support district teams with targeted follow‑up, investigations and evidence development.
• Contribute to prosecution and court processes.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret legislation.
• Experience analysing complex information from multiple data sources.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
