Community Wellbeing Specialist Advisor

About the role
The Community Wellbeing Specialist Advisor works with diverse Auckland communities to understand their aspirations and help turn ideas into reality. This permanent, hybrid position is based in Central Auckland, serving the Central and East portfolio, including Puketāpapa, with travel to community sites as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to projects that address complex community challenges.
- Provide evidence‑based advice to elected members and decision‑makers.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with community groups and stakeholders.
- Manage and deliver collaborative, results‑focused programmes.
- Offer strategic guidance and influence across all levels of the organisation.
Required profile
- Passionate about community work and self‑driven.
- Proven experience in community development, capacity building, and community‑led delivery models.
- Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder‑engagement skills, including work with elected members.
- Track record of managing complex projects in ambiguous environments.
- Full NZ driver’s licence or ability to travel independently and attend occasional events outside standard hours.
