Community Hub Manager – Beachlands Library

About the role

We are seeking an experienced people leader to establish and manage the new Beachlands Library and Community Hub. This permanent 38‑hour per week position will shape integrated library, council and venue‑hire services for the growing eastern Franklin community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, set‑up and delivery of library and community services, including venue hire.
• Recruit, develop and manage a new multidisciplinary team.
• Oversee operational leadership, strategic planning and financial management of the hub.
• Collaborate with the Franklin Local Board, community groups and stakeholders to design programmes that reflect local needs.
• Provide flexible service coverage, including evenings and one weekend day, as the hub expands its operating days.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading teams through change and building community‑focused services.
• Strong ability to balance day‑to‑day operations with long‑term strategic planning.
• Data‑driven decision‑making and insight utilisation.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with diverse community and stakeholder groups.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership and incorporation of te ao Māori and te reo Māori.
