About the role
The Community Guardian (Hapori Kaitiaki) will join Kainga Ora’s flagship Greys Ave (Te Mātāwai) complex, helping to create a safe, inclusive housing environment where residents feel supported and connected.
Key responsibilities
- Provide on‑site support to residents, addressing everyday needs and fostering wellbeing.
- Maintain a 24/7 rostered rotating shift schedule to ensure continuous community coverage.
- Promote positive resident outcomes through active engagement and problem‑solving.
- Assist with the smooth operation of the housing complex, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
Required profile
- Passionate about making a difference in local communities.
- Willingness to work flexible, rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build connections with diverse residents.
