Commis Chef / Cooks Assistant – Full‑time at Retirement Village

About the role

Join the supportive team at Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village and help deliver nutritious, high‑quality meals to residents. This full‑time position combines duties as a Cooks Assistant (Tue‑Thu) and a Commis Chef (Fri‑Sat) in a beautiful resort‑style environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist chefs in preparing and presenting meals for all residents.
• Support food preparation, baking (cakes, scones, biscuits) and dishwashing.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Required profile

• Hold or be willing to obtain a New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 3).
• Proven experience in food preparation.
• Reliable, friendly and professional attitude.
• Strong focus on hygiene and ability to work in a team.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
