Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role

Goodman Fielder is looking for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join its Auckland team. The role partners with Marketing, Sales and R&D to shape commercial strategy and investment decisions for some of New Zealand's most loved food brands. It is more than a traditional finance role: you will sit at the heart of innovation, marketing investment and growth initiatives, bringing financial insight and a strong commercial lens to decisions that matter.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Marketing, Sales and R&D leaders to shape commercial strategy and investment decisions.
• Lead financial modelling and business cases for innovation, new product development and growth initiatives.
• Challenge assumptions and influence investment decisions to maximise profitable growth.
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis across innovation and marketing portfolios.
• Evaluate and track the return on investment of marketing, innovation and strategic growth initiatives.
• Present recommendations that influence decisions and drive business performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve commercial processes, reporting and decision support.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Commercial Finance or Finance Business Partnering.
• A CA, CPA or CIMA qualification, or working towards one.
• Strong commercial acumen, financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Confidence influencing stakeholders, challenging thinking and building trusted relationships.
• Proactive, adaptable mindset and ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• FMCG, manufacturing, retail or consumer goods experience highly desirable; Big Four experience advantageous.
