Clinical Tutor

About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Tutor to join the Healthcare Academy of New Zealand in Auckland. The tutor will deliver the Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5), supporting learners both in classroom settings and on clinical placements, guiding them to apply theory to practice and achieve Nursing Council competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching sessions in face‑to‑face and online formats.
• Facilitate clinical learning alongside workplace pre‑ceptors and the Clinical Placement Coordinator.
• Support learners to meet academic and clinical expectations and prepare for final Nursing Council exams.
• Assess learner progress and readiness for registration.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous programme improvement.
• Collaborate with clinical partners to maintain high‑quality placement standards.

Required profile

• Registered or Enrolled Nurse holding a current NZ practising certificate.
• Post‑registration or postgraduate qualification in nursing or a related field.
• Minimum five years recent New Zealand nursing/clinical experience.
• Experience supervising or supporting learners in clinical settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cultural responsiveness to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori perspectives.
• Adult teaching qualification (or willingness to complete within two years).
• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence.
