Clinical Educator / Registered Nurse (Part‑time)

About the role

The School of Nursing at Auckland University of Technology is seeking a part‑time Clinical Educator / Registered Nurse to join its teaching team. This permanent 0.8 FTE position will support the Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) and Master of Nursing Science programmes, delivering culturally responsive clinical education to a diverse student cohort.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate clinical learning activities for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students.
• Mentor and assess students during placements, ensuring alignment with professional standards.
• Collaborate with clinical partners to maintain up‑to‑date practice environments.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the nursing curriculum.
• Promote cultural safety by integrating Māori and Pacific knowledge, kawa, tikanga and mātauranga Māori into teaching.

Required profile

• Current NCNZ practising certificate and recent New Zealand clinical experience.
• Postgraduate certificate in a nursing‑related qualification.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
• High cultural sensitivity and understanding of Māori and Pacific health perspectives.
