Clinical Educator – Mental Health Nursing (Part‑time)

About the role

The School of Nursing at Auckland University of Technology is seeking a part‑time Clinical Educator to join its Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) and Master of Nursing Science programmes. This permanent 0.8 FTE position will involve teaching, mentoring and supporting nursing students, with a focus on mental health practice and culturally responsive care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical education and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students.
• Develop and enhance clinical learning resources and curricula within the mental health nursing stream.
• Collaborate with academic staff to ensure alignment of theory and practice.
• Support students from Māori, Pacific and diverse backgrounds, incorporating cultural knowledge such as kawa, tikanga Māori and mātauranga Māori.
• Participate in professional development activities offered by AUT.

Required profile

• Current NCNZ practising certificate with recent New Zealand clinical experience.
• Minimum postgraduate certificate in a nursing‑related qualification.
• Significant experience as a mental health registered nurse.
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and understanding of Māori and Pacific health contexts.
• Commitment to the values and vision of the School of Nursing.
