Class 5 Tanker Operator – Full‑time

About the role

Open Country Dairy is expanding its milk collection network and is looking for experienced Class 5 tanker drivers to join the Southern Milk Transport team at the Awarua site. This is a permanent, full‑time position operating on a 2‑days‑on, 2‑days‑night, 4‑days‑off roster, with annualised hours covering the dairy season.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy commercial tanker vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Transport dairy products from farms to the processing factory.
• Communicate clearly with farmer suppliers regarding deliveries.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures and contribute positively to team culture.

Required profile

• Current, clean Class 5 licence.
• Minimum 12 months of experience driving trucks and trailers.
• Strong commitment to health and safety best practices.
• High level of motivation and professionalism.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Navman navigation system.
• Experience using M2X telematics system.
