Civil Quality Advisor – Utility‑Scale Solar Project

About the role

INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking a Civil Quality Advisor to join the project team for a utility‑scale solar development north of Auckland. This full‑time, site‑based position will ensure that all civil construction activities meet the required quality standards, specifications, and New Zealand regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the on‑site quality representative for civil works, verifying compliance with drawings, specifications, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), client requirements and NZ standards.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks on earthworks, trenching, concrete works, drainage, roads, foundations and related civil installations.
• Maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, test results, compliance reports and hand‑over dossiers.
• Identify, manage and close out non‑conformances (NCRs), corrective actions and continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior Project Manager, Construction Manager, HSE Manager, engineers, subcontractors and client representatives to drive quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a QA/QC role within civil construction, infrastructure, renewable energy or large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction processes such as earthworks, concrete, trenching and foundations.
• Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications and ITPs and to manage quality documentation and reporting.
• Demonstrated skill in engaging subcontractors and site teams to influence quality standards and resolve issues.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and capable of working autonomously in a fast‑paced construction environment.
