Civil Estimator – Construction Projects

About the role

MaxBuild is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join its senior management team in Auckland. You will help shape the company’s growth by leading tender preparation, offering engineering solutions, and collaborating with senior leaders to secure new projects.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in strategic workload planning as part of the senior management team.
• Work within the tender/bid team alongside the Managing Director, Project Managers, Engineers, and attribute writers.
• Create tender programmes, documentation, and cost estimates for complex civil projects.
• Liaise with clients and subcontractors to clarify requirements and negotiate terms.
• Provide engineering alternatives that enhance the competitiveness of bids.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent industry‑related qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of civil sector experience, with at least 2.5 years in an estimating role.
• Broad experience across civil disciplines and familiarity with NZS3910 standards.
• Proven record of winning projects through accurate and compelling bids.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• New Zealand residency or unrestricted work permit and a full driver’s licence.
