Chef de Partie – Kitchen Team Member

About the role

Join the vibrant kitchen team at Ibis Wellington as a Chef de Partie. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to deliver high‑quality dishes that delight our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily kitchen operations for your designated section.
• Prepare, cook, and present menu items with consistency, creativity, and adherence to cost margins.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff, delegating tasks to meet service requirements.
• Coordinate menu preparation, ensure adequate supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
• Monitor food quality at every stage and communicate product needs to senior kitchen leadership.

Required profile

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.
• Certificate in Cookery or equivalent culinary qualification.
• Flexibility to work a 7‑day roster, including morning and evening shifts.
• Passion for delivering outstanding culinary experiences and quality presentation.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
