Chef de Partie – Hotel Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at Novotel & Ibis Rotorua Lakeside. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting high‑quality dishes across breakfast, à la carte and event services, working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present consistently high‑quality dishes in line with menu standards.
• Run your designated kitchen section with confidence, ensuring attention to detail.
• Support Sous Chefs and the Executive Chef during service periods.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Assist in training and encouraging junior kitchen staff.
• Contribute ideas for menus, specials and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver memorable dining experiences daily.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or readiness to step into the role.
• Strong pride in the quality of every plate.
• Ability to stay calm under busy service conditions.
• Team‑oriented attitude with good time‑management and organisational skills.
• Understanding of food safety and kitchen best practices.
• Positive attitude and willingness to share food stories.
