Casual Café Assistant – Terrace Café (Auckland)

About the role

Join the friendly team at the Terrace Café, located at the entrance of Auckland’s iconic Aotea Centre. This casual, on‑site position offers a living‑wage hourly rate and full training for individuals who enjoy providing excellent hospitality in a vibrant, culturally rich environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take orders for food, coffee and drinks using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Prepare and serve beverages and meals according to café standards.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming café environment.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and manaakitanga (hospitality) to all patrons.
• Assist with stock replenishment and basic duties across Terrace Café, The Container Bar and Starks at The Civic.

Required profile

• Positive, friendly attitude with a strong desire to provide great customer service.
• Excellent communication and social skills; able to think on your feet.
• Team‑player with a high standard of grooming and presentation.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Ability to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system.
