Capital Portfolio Manager

About the role

Watercare is seeking a Capital Portfolio Manager to lead its capital investment portfolio. Based in the modern Newmarket office, the role offers the chance to shape Auckland’s water infrastructure while working in a collaborative environment that values work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution and monitoring of Watercare’s capital investment projects.
• Influence major infrastructure decisions by providing financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
• Maintain the portfolio’s alignment with the organisation’s long‑term asset strategy.
• Prepare and present performance reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and finance teams to ensure project delivery within budget and schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing capital investment portfolios, preferably within the utilities or infrastructure sector.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior decision‑makers.
• Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and a collaborative culture.
