Business Development Manager – Retail (New Zealand)

About the role

Unilever New Zealand is looking for a Business Development Manager to act as the link between retail stores and the company. The role focuses on executing growth plans across major NZ retailers such as New World, Pak n Save, Four Square and Fresh Choice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory business plan/strategy to deliver growth
• Present Unilever Business Reviews across the territory
• Use Dunnhumby and Nielsen data tools to develop store‑based insights and data‑driven sales stories
• Manage the ‘Perfect Store’ process to unlock best‑in‑class in‑store practices
• Execute the Unilever Field Activity Plan
• Maintain strong collaborative relationships with store owners, grocery managers and buyers
• Participate in Unilever team meetings, BPMs, Go‑to‑Market sessions and conferences
• Escalate non‑compliance challenges using Foodstuffs official processes
• Identify and negotiate incremental store‑based opportunities across the Unilever portfolio (shelf space, positioning, displays, events, clearance relays)
• Act as the voice of Unilever to retail customers, sharing updates, brand information and business insights
