Business Development Manager - MICE

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to lead the Groups, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segment at Park Hyatt Auckland. The role focuses on driving growth, expanding market presence and building strategic partnerships that align with the hotel’s long‑term objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly personal plan targets in collaboration with sales and revenue teams.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape and growth opportunities specific to the region and property.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase market share in the MICE segment.
• Grow the conference and events portfolio through proactive sales, cold calling, networking and industry events.
• Act as a 5‑star sales lead generator and brand ambassador for Park Hyatt Auckland, both internally and externally.
• Build, develop and maintain relationships with existing client base.

Required profile

• Strong leadership ability to manage and motivate a sales team.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and acquiring/retaining business, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional time‑management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Results‑focused with a demonstrated ability to meet sales objectives.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
